British Wedding at St. Ursula’s Church (Bern)

17. November 2017

«Two souls alas! are dwelling in my breast» Goethe once said. Well, you know by now that in my case one of these souls is british. One of the reasons why I am fascinated by lush floral designs ever since I lived and worked in London is that british weddings literaly know how to make an entrace. While in Swizerland bridal couples tend to only have flowers inside the church, in the United Kingdom you know that flowers outside the church make your guests feel welcomed the minute they arrive. So when the groom told me that he grew up in London, I knew that he most certainly wouldn’t want to miss to make an entrance on his wedding day. Yes! We went with a lovely arch ouside the church which by the way was the perfect backdrop for the family potraits afterwards. And since the chairs of the church didn’t match with the floral concept we took them all out, replacing them with timeless Napoleon chairs with red cushions to have a connection with the red carpet floor. It was totally worth the effort. Don’t you think so too?
